The balance assembly integrated into the movement regulates the timekeeping.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTwo separate mainspring barrels power the time train and the striking train. The clock is wound with a key and has a running time of approximately eight days.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe clock strikes on a gong with three rods. At each full hour, it strikes the corresponding number of times; at the half hour, it strikes once.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn our workshop, we fully dismantled the mechanical movement, cleaned it, reassembled it, properly lubricated it and adjusted it. Since the overhaul, the clock has been running very well and keeping time accurately.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis mantel clock can once again do what it was made to do more than 60 years ago: keep time reliably and mark the hours with its striking mechanism. A very fine hairline crack is present in the lacquer on the front.
