Warm wood, a light-coloured dial and slender brass feet give this Hermle mantel clock a distinctive elegance. Its elongated case appears balanced and light, while the trapezoidal dial forms a striking focal point. The fine brass-coloured frame, slim hour markers and dark hands with gold-coloured accents preserve the clear design character of the 1960s.

The delicate brass feet lift the wooden case with an almost floating lightness. The clock sits beautifully on a sideboard, console or chest of drawers, where it can be paired with personal favourite objects. It also works well on a simple contemporary piece of furniture, where its unusual shape can speak for itself.

Origin and period

This Hermle mantel clock dates from the 1960s. The Franz Hermle & Sohn clock factory was based in Reichenbach am Heuberg in the Swabian Alb and is known for its clock movements.

Movement and mechanism

Inside is a mechanical Hermle movement, calibre 150-010, with a floating balance escapement. The Bim-Bam striking mechanism chimes on three rods: once on the half hour and, on the hour, the number of times corresponding to the hour.

Case, dial and design

The elongated wooden case stands on slender brass feet at either side. The light-coloured dial is trapezoidal and framed by a narrow brass-coloured rim. Slim hour markers and dark hands with gold-coloured accents complete its clean design.

Condition and restoration

The movement was completely dismantled in our workshop, thoroughly cleaned and serviced, reassembled, professionally oiled and adjusted. The photograph of the dismantled Hermle calibre 150-010 documents this work. The clock was checked after servicing. It is running very well and keeps accurate time.

The light-coloured dial has slight changes in colour, visible in the photographs. Further signs of age and use may be present. The photographs form part of the description and show the condition of the clock offered.

Operation and chime

You can watch the clock running and listen to its chime in our video.

The guarantee covers the repair of the clock free of charge by AntiguoShop or by a specialist repairer appointed by AntiguoShop.

The voluntary guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear resulting from age or use, or parts subject to wear. These include, in particular, mainsprings, suspension springs, isochronism springs and other auxiliary springs, cables and cords, as well as electrical contacts. The voluntary guarantee also does not cover damage resulting from improper handling or operation, incorrect installation or commissioning, or damage caused by external influences.
