EMES Mechanical Wooden Mantel Clock with Chime, 1960s
Before shipping, every clock is carefully checked once more and gently prepared for its next journey.
This EMES mantel clock from the 1960s pairs a long, wooden case with a softly rounded dial surround. The warm grain and fine gold-coloured lines give it a calm, elegant presence. The dark centre of the dial contrasts with the light chapter ring, while the gold-coloured hands add a subtle accent.
Its broad, balanced shape looks especially at home on a sideboard or buffet. The clock makes a distinctive impression without taking up much vertical space, and sits comfortably in both a traditional and a more understated interior.
Inside is a mechanical Hermle movement with a floating balance, calibre 140-010. The Bim-Bam chime sounds on four rods: once on the half hour and on the hour according to the number of hours. A rotary control on the back can be used to silence the chime.
In our workshop
We completely dismantled the mechanical movement, thoroughly cleaned and serviced it, lubricated it correctly and adjusted it. We then tested the clock. It runs very well and keeps accurate time.
Option to convert to a modern quartz movement
This EMES mantel clock can be converted to a modern quartz movement on request, either with an electronic chime or without a chime. If you would like a conversion, please add the desired conversion option to your cart as well.
The conversion is made to order and cannot be reversed. The historic case is retained; the mechanical movement is replaced with the selected quartz movement.

These include, in particular, mainsprings, suspension springs, isochronism springs and other auxiliary springs, cables and cords, as well as electrical contacts. The voluntary guarantee also does not cover damage resulting from improper handling or operation, incorrect installation or commissioning, or damage caused by external influences.
